Homes for Sale in Preston Hollow Dallas, Texas 75230
Preston Hollow was once a separate city on the outskirts of Dallas. It was incorporated into Dallas in 1945. There is still a house on the corner of Meadow and Preston that was one od the original farm houses of the area. I once talked to a woman that said that they used to walk over to what is now Hillcrest Road to buy eggs. The original lots in this neighborhood were all plotted to be 200 feet wide by 150 feet deep. When you look at an old plat map of this area, the solid lines are around this measurements, while today there are divided lines that separate these lots into many 100 X 150 lots. The charm of the neighborhood lies in the curbless streets. Since it started as a farming community and an independent area from Dallas, the streets were dirt, then covered with asphalt. Now Preston Hollow lies in the most desired location in the City of Dallas.
